Family Services Department
We understand the importance of a reference point when queries need answering, and for this reason we created the Family Attention Service (SAF) to manage queries and answer applications and other issues that might need special handling outside of the educational or reception issues.
A SAF representative supports families from the moment they request information until the pupil finishes their education at our School and beyond; we do like to maintain contact with families that have been part of our ECI Community after pupils have completed their studies.
Our families have the opportunity of being in direct contact with SAF through various channels of communication offered by the School, as well as in person on School premises.
These channels are:
Families fully share our Mission, Vision and Values. They take an active part in School life, participating in various forums and communication channels to share their suggestions and comments.
The English Centre understands the best way to develop pupils’ potential to its best is providing family communication, and for this reason meetings are held periodically with families and with AMPA, family-tutor forums, in-situ tutorials, digital diary, circulars and other systems created exclusively for this task.(ECINET Platform)
Pupil fidelity is a key objective of our Educational Institution, both pupils and families are given the opportunity to take part in satisfaction questionnaires.
What elements are indicators of this fidelity?
» Tutorial action is valued in our pupils’ academic and behavioural education
» Our management efficiency
» Confidence in our methodology
» Invitations to numerous performances; parents, grandparents and families are invited to (Christmas events, plays, parties, get-togethers, sporting activities, choir performances…)
» Continued family identification with School ideology.
With the aim of offering our Educational Services to as many pupils as possible, we have developed a transport net covering the entire Cadiz Bay.
We want to help our families with pupil transport, hence ensuring that all Cadiz Bay town families have access to our educational system and have the chance of belonging to our ECI Community.

We firmly believe a good education covers all areas: knowledge, learning, pupil personality, self-confidence, education in values and of course a correct nutrition. We are conscious of the importance of the dining room service’s contribution through healthy eating, by offering pupils a balanced diet and promoting good table manners through workshops on School premises.
We offer our pupils best quality education as well as the best diet and for this reason we feel confident about Sodexo, an international Company, who like us, has over 40 years’ experience.
Sodexo offers the dining room service to over 900 people, between staff and pupils. Food is cooked at School under very strict hygiene controls. Nutritionists develop the menus and adapt them to meet the different family and pupil needs. For this reason we offer families astringent, hypocaloric, lactose intolerant and celiac menus apart from our general menu. Families are informed monthly regarding the menu. This way, families will not only know what their children eat during the day, but also the daily calories and dinner suggestions, following the Health Department recommendations that governs this service.
The dining room Service has three sessions:
» Early Years 12:00am to 1:00 pm
» Primary 1:15 pm to 1.45 pm
» Secondary/Sixth Form 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm

To offer a better service and always thinking about our families, we extend our timetable by offering morning class to cover the needs of parents who start work early.
The morning class starts at 8:00am and runs until class starts. It is a non-academic class for pupils to use the time depending on their needs. Pupils are taken care of by School staff at all times. Older pupils take advantage of the time and revise and study while the younger ones play or watch films.
Given the number of hours our pupils spend at School, and aiming to cover all the possible needs that may occur, our Health Service department attends to pupil and staff needs from 9:00am to 5:15 pm.
All medical appointments follow a procedure that facilitates communication with our families at the time of the appointment and ensures everything is fully registered.
Our staff does not medicate or prescribe medication. However, they do administer medication, on authorisation by the family and handed in to the School Nurse’s Office before class begins. They also keep a strict control of all pupil allergies and intolerances.
We prepare our pupils for an International and ever changing environment where languages are essential. The philosophy is to learn in English, not to learn English. In the same manner, we also provide the ECI Curriculum with a second and third language -French and German.
External Languages Services
During their education at School and within the Curriculum, pupils are offered the opportunity of taking external examinations such as Cambridge University, DELF, GOETHE to recognise language ability.
We have a library with a great number of catalogued and updated books for both pupils and staff. This service is available during school hours thanks to our librarian, who advises pupils, supports the teaching-learning process and organises many activities together with the Spanish Language Department. For example, author presentations, book borrowing workshops, visits to the Local Library, Books fairs etc.
When do they use the library?
» Pupils go to the library during their break times to read books, newspapers or magazines. Book borrowing is also available, a computerised service where a library membership card is indispensable.
» Study time, when pupils do not have to attend classes, the library provides a quiet environment adequate for content comprehension and concentration.
» Author or new book presentations.
» Reading of daily newspapers or specialised magazines.
» Researching information for computer based School projects.
The educational range provided by the music and sports clubs further complement the ECI pupil Curriculum.

The English immersion camps are the perfect scenario for children to learn while filling their summer with new experiences.
Each group is made up of between 7 and 12 boys and girls with a monitor and a teacher with whom they live real life situations in an English speaking environment on a daily basis.
Mornings are dedicated to learning English through games and activity classes. Through this fun filled day children perceive English as a means of communication instead of as a subject, at the same time learning about other cultures; knowledge they will add to their experience.
Afternoons are full of sporting activities and workshops, allowing them to develop their creativity and practice their favourite sports surrounded by nature.
After a shower and dinner, the day ends with celebrations and evening events where children create friendship bonds they will carry with them in the future.
Finally, and to unwind after an eventful week, children travel to various destinations where surprises and adventures await for them; the sought after weekend field trips.
The programmes abroad are a unique opportunity to live new experiences open to different cultures within an adequate setting; communicating with people from other countries and appreciating everything we enjoy in life. To be able to see, feel, touch…other worlds we can communicate with, to develop our creativity, maturity, personality and understanding in a world becoming more and more global every day.
The main objective of these programmes is to complement our young ones’ holistic education, providing them with the appropriate linguistic, cultural and social tools to fend for themselves in the future.
