INDIVIDUALISED ATTENTION
Tutoring at The English Centre is an educational resource aimed to aid learning, and for this reason, our Tutorial Action Plan aims to be coherent with the educational principles and criteria agreed upon within the Curricular Project.
The fundamental aims of tutoring and guidance are to promote, encourage, coordinate, design and provide pupils and families with an education as personalised as possible.
For this reason we count on the participation of:
» The teacher/tutor.
» The coordinated action of the Tutors and Deputy Heads
» The work and support of the Heads of Department
» The support of the Guidance Department
» Family cooperation
» Action and monitoring of the co-operative tutors
The attention to diversity measures applied in School are aimed towards covering each pupil’s specific educational needs so that they achieve the maximum development possible of their personal capabilities and to the acquisition of the Basic Competences and objectives of the established curriculum at each stage: Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form.
Tutoring and Guidance at El Centro Inglés
At El Centro Inglés, as a leading international school, one of our fundamental objectives is the continuous monitoring of pupils’ teaching and learning process, as well as their successful integration into school life. This support is complemented by a strong academic and career guidance programme, which helps students make informed decisions throughout their educational journey.
Tutoring is a key educational resource at El Centro Inglés, serving both learning and pupil wellbeing. For this reason, our Pastoral Care Plan is fully aligned with the pedagogical principles and educational criteria set out in the School Curriculum Project, ensuring consistency, continuity, and high educational standards across all stages.
Personalised support and partnership with families
The main aim of tutoring and educational guidance is to promote, enhance, coordinate, design, and deliver a personalised education for both pupils and their families. This individualised approach strengthens pupils’ academic, personal, and emotional development, which is one of the pillars of the El Centro Inglés educational model.
To provide this comprehensive support, we implement a coordinated educational approach involving:
- The form tutor and the Guidance Department
- Joint action between the team of tutors and the Deputy Head, depending on the educational stage
- The support and coordination of Heads of Department
- The specialised advisory role of the Guidance Department
- The active collaboration of families, an essential element of the educational process
- The monitoring and support of co-tutors, when required
Inclusion and competency development
The measures for addressing diversity at El Centro Inglés are designed to meet the specific educational needs of each pupil, ensuring that all students can achieve their maximum personal potential.
This inclusive approach supports the progressive development of Key Competencies and the achievement of curricular objectives at each educational stage: Early Years, Primary, Secondary, and Sixth Form, in line with a high-quality international education model
