At El Centro Inglés (ECI), we educate responsible and committed global citizens, promoting values-based education, social leadership, and community engagement from an early age, as part of our commitment as a CIS Accredited School.
We understand education as a holistic process that goes beyond academics. As a British international school accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), we actively promote values education, social awareness, and global responsibility — key areas recognised and encouraged within CIS international quality standards.
Our aim is to develop global citizens who are aware of their role in society and capable of acting with empathy, respect, and responsibility towards others and the environment from an early age.
Values education from Early Years
Values education is a fundamental pillar of the El Centro Inglés educational project. From the earliest stages, pupils take part in experiences that foster solidarity, cooperation, respect for diversity, and social commitment, developing an ethical awareness aligned with international values.
This approach helps to shape pupils with an open mindset, prepared to live and participate actively in a global and interconnected world.
Social Responsibility Committee: student leadership with real impact
The ECI Social Responsibility Committee, “Our values are who we are”, is made up of student leaders, supported by the educational team, and is responsible for designing, coordinating, and leading the school’s social and charitable initiatives.
This committee:
- Promotes responsible and participatory leadership
- Engages the wider student body in charitable and volunteering initiatives
- Strengthens decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills
- Ensures that social action is an active part of school life
This model of student leadership reflects CIS principles, which emphasise the importance of social action, community engagement, and the development of global citizens.

Volunteering group
Spaces where pupils actively engage in volunteering activities, developing civic commitment and social awareness. This also includes initiatives such as the Christmas charity bake sale organised in support of the Sisters.
Happiness Day
A landmark event that reinforces the values and sense of happiness that define ECI, celebrating the school’s identity and its collective commitment to the community.
