LIBRARY SERVICE
School Library | A Space for Reading and Learning at El Centro Inglés
A place to inspire knowledge and a love of reading
At El Centro Inglés, we understand that reading is a fundamental tool for the intellectual, creative and personal development of our pupils. For this reason, we have a modern, well-resourced school library, available throughout the school day for both pupils and staff.
Our librarian plays a key role in this educational space: advising pupils, supporting the teaching and learning process, and organising activities in collaboration with the Languages Department, fostering a love of reading and an appreciation of cultural values.
Activities that enrich the reading experience
In addition to offering a wide, up-to-date and carefully organised collection, the library becomes a dynamic learning hub through initiatives such as:
- Meetings with renowned authors
- Workshops on book loans and the responsible use of resources
- Visits to the Municipal Library and participation in the Book Fair
These activities reinforce El Centro Inglés’ commitment to a comprehensive and well-rounded education, where literature is a fundamental pillar.
When do pupils use the library?
- During break times: for reading books, newspapers or magazines, or using the loan service, managed through a computerised system requiring a library card
- During independent study periods, benefiting from a quiet environment that encourages concentration
- For research and reference, from information about authors to newly published works
- For daily reading of newspapers and specialised magazines
- For project work and research, with access to computers and the internet
Our library is designed to be much more than a study space: it is a place where curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of reading are nurtured.
